Larisa Méndez Béjar

Master of Science in aquaculture and limnology with more than 10 years of academic and governmental experience in the aquaculture and fisheries sector, with active participation in the promotion and systematization of programs aimed at producer organization, business integration and strategic alliances.
In her extensive experience she has worked as a Senior Researcher at the Michoacán State Research Center from where she worked in the implementation of non-traditional aquaculture technology transfer packages for several states.
In the Government Sector as Commissioner of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Government of Michoacán coordinated programs aimed at seeking food security, with emphasis on attention to marginalized rural areas and promotion of priority groups; She also carried out the management of national and international resources for the development of communities dedicated to fisheries and aquaculture.
As Adviser on Fisheries and Aquaculture, the current Governor of Michoacán coordinated the International Cooperation projects for the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda with FAO.
She is founder of the National Association of Holders of Aquaculture and Fisheries A.C., ANTAP, which is integrated by 14 states of Mexico coastline, where the largest fishery and aquaculture production is concentrated.
She is currently The Executive Director of this Association.
