President of the Instituto del Mar del Perú (2007-2010), responsible for fisheries research in support of fisheries resources management policies.
Secretary General of the Permanent Commission of the South Pacific (CPPS) body that coordinates the maritime policies of the the Southeast Pacific states (Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Panama).
Vice Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Peru (2016-2018) responsible for implementing the country’s fisheries and aquaculture
policy.
Currently independent consultant in marine and fisheries issues.
