Andrew Rhodes

More than 15 years working experience for sustainable use of natural resources in Mexico, he has deep knowledge about social-environmental challenges in Mexico, public environmental policies, technical- administrative solid experience, wide network of national and international contacts, and great passion for Mexico´s culture and biodiversity. He is currently collaborating as Coordinator of Instrumentation of Agreements and Recommendations in the high-level panel for Sustainable Ocean Economy, from the Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs & Human Rights of the Ministry of the External Affairs of Mexico.

He previously held executive positions in the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas; director of Climate Change Strategy, General Director of Institutional Development and Promotion, as well as national commissioner. In addition, he worked as General Director of Pronatura System as well as Central Coordinator of the Mexican Protected Natural Areas Fund for Nature Conservation AC (FMCN). And last, Andrew Rhodes is the focal point for Mexico’s Protected Natural Areas Commission of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
